Our director, Dr. Kim Shelton, recently presented the work of the Nemea Center to members of the UC Berkeley Retirement Center. The lecture is available online for anyone interested in learning about our work!
The presentation covers UC Berkeley’s long history of bringing the past to the present through the archaeological investigation of the Panhellenic Sanctuary of Zeus in Ancient Nemea, Greece. The site was once one of the most important religious centers on the mainland as well as the site of athletic games and festivals. Dr. Shelton discusses the Center’s current excavation projects, some new discoveries, and its ongoing efforts toward the preservation of our shared cultural heritage. Check out the video below!
