What do Cindy Crawford and the archaeological site of Ancient Nemea have in common?
Model Kaia Gerber! Gerber, Crawford’s daughter, was recently photographed for British Vogue before the Temple of Zeus at Nemea. Wearing fashion by Hermes (appropriate!), Burberry, Alexander McQueen, Dolce & Gabbana, Donatella Versace, Ralph Lauren, Saint Laurent and Miu Miu, Gerber embodied the concept of the “Almighty Aphrodite” that Vogue editors had hoped to portray. For their part, the originally standing AND the newly erected columns portrayed the concept of “Almighty Zeus” that the original architects surely had in mind. The fluting on the columns perfectly mirrored the structured pleats of Gerber’s ensembles. Stark lines, structure, and beauty adorned both the foreground and the background of these photos – this has to be high fashion at its best!
